Ice melts by warmth. Similarly a person can be warm causing feelings of comfort to another melting away at hard formed surfaces around the heart.

Ice can be punctured with an Ice-Pick. Just as someone can be incessant in wanting to puncture through the layers that make another who they are.

Ice cracks due to its own expansion and shrinkage. The same as ones heart and soul can crack open through growth or decline and through any fortunate/unfortunate life circumstances.
